Chypre 21 is a modern fragrance rooted in the 21st century, but it contains the main ingredients of classic French chypre perfumes: bergamot, rose, patchouli, sandalwood, and oakmoss. They have been masterfully transformed by James Heeley into a modern unisex scent. This beautifully designed composition does not include the feminine, powdery note often associated with old-fashioned chypre fragrances. Instead, it opens with a clean freshness, characteristic of modern scents, which is then followed by a long-lasting oriental veil of rose, saffron, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, and oakmoss.
Similar to classic French chypre fragrances, the accord is perfectly balanced: none of the notes overpower the others. The scent leaves behind a lovely, slightly nostalgic trail of unique Parisian elegance, exuded by personalities such as Jackie Onassis, Grace Kelly, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

About the brand Heeley
James Heeley, a lawyer by education, began his adventure with fragrances by creating the composition of Figuier - a perfectly thought-out interpretation of the scent of a fig tree. This perfume gave birth to a collection that combines two seemingly opposing features - timeless elegance and nature. When we smell the incense Cardinal, the essential Sel Marin or the clean and powdery Blanc Poudre, we feel admiration and fascination.
The creator of the brand personally takes care of both developing the formula of each fragrance and designing the packaging.
Experts on Cyprus 21
Cyprus 21 is a great example of how to compose a modern chypre fragrance without dominant oakmoss. It starts with rosemary and lemon, then brings in Bulgarian rose. On top of that, a modern chypre accord of patchouli, sandalwood, low-atranol oakmoss, white musk, all sprinkled with saffron. A successful extrapolation of a venerable concept into a contemporary form.
