Description
Byredo presents the Tulipmania collection, inspired by the historical phenomenon also known as "tulip fever". This term is used to describe an economic phenomenon that occurred in 17th century Holland, involving a huge increase in prices of tulip bulbs and an unprecedented fashion for these flowers.
Tulipmania is also a collection based on the scent of La Tulipe from 2010. Juicy rhubarb opens the composition and at the same time serves as the beginning for the creation of light freesia and cyclamen. The true character of the scent is revealed later, when the green becomes more distinct and every place is filled with the scent of tulips. In La Tulipe, the horizon becomes the border between the sky and a field of yellow and red flowers. The created place is full of fresh wind passing through the dense stems and leaves, with a sensual vetiver as its base in its woody, slightly dark greenery.
About the brand Byredo
Stockholm-based perfumery house, founded in 2006. Behind the global success and all the brand's creations stands founder and artistic director Ben Gorham. His multicultural background, bridging Canada, India and Sweden, is reflected in the unique character of Byredo perfumes.
"I am not a perfumer. I create a brief and show it to a professional scent creator. Images, film, poetry, music, words, objects, other scents - these are my inspirations... I have trained my nose. I had to learn a different language to communicate with perfumers, but over time I gained experience. From the very beginning, I have also been working with the same specialists.
