Beaufort presents - REVENANTS, a collection of fragrances dedicated to important figures from British history, whose presence subtly lingers to this day.
No. 1 - "Iron Duke" was created in honor of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852). Perfumer Julie Dunkley has created an incredibly bold fragrance with an animalistic depth, inspired by the admired rider, warrior, politician, and pioneer of tailoring.
Fragrance Notes
About the brand Beaufort
The brand was created by musician and writer Leo Crabtree, who has been fascinated by scents and the dark side of British history throughout his life. These two currents are the driving force behind the entire collection. As he says: "The sea, its traditions and superstitions, and the associated lifestyle - all of this is a part of me. The name comes from the 1805 scale of wind strength and serves as a structure within which we try to express ourselves as a brand."
Beaufort fragrances are created in close collaboration with the most distinguished British perfumers and are meant to reflect the collective national subconscious. For example, Iron Duke was created in honor of Arthur Wellesley - the Duke of Wellington, a rider, soldier, politician, and avid lover of tailoring. It is built on notes of leather, tobacco, rum, and... gunpowder.
Reviews of Iron Duke
I get the impression that I am smelling wood sweetened with tobacco and maybe a hint of vodka (really good bourbon - Iron Duke has good taste), but the main feeling is clearly an animal base. Iron Duke is a stinking beast. Like all Beaufort London fragrances, it is not intended for the faint-hearted, shy or uninitiated - those who do not know what audacity is in the world of perfumes.
