Description

In the heart of the Fleur de Peau composition, musk was placed, which became an icon of the '60s: moist, light and soft like cotton. Its scent elegantly emphasizes the powdery iris and fruity, amber seeds of cistus, making it almost tangible. The absolute extract of cistus seeds is obtained from hibiscus flowers. Its notes are incredibly rich: sweet, slightly animalistic and fruity - pear and plum.

The creators of this fragrance restored musk to its "perfumery" character to return to its origins, to the times when the scent was closer to the skin.

The inspiration for creating the fragrance was the myth of Cupid and Psyche.

Psyche was the youngest and most beautiful daughter of the royal couple. She was so beautiful that her admirers neglected the cult of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and instead began to worship the princess. Aphrodite sent her son, Cupid (Eros), to make Psyche fall in love with an ugly man, but instead the god fell in love with the girl. He visited her every night, but warned her not to look at his face. One night, she decided to light a lamp to see him. A drop of oil fell on Cupid's face, who woke up and flew away. Psyche wandered the world in search of Cupid and eventually went to serve Aphrodite. The goddess gave Psyche the most difficult tasks, even sending her on a journey to the Kingdom of Darkness. However, Psyche managed to complete these tasks and married Cupid. She became the goddess of the soul.

About the brand Diptyque

The history began in 1961, when three friends - Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant - opened a boutique on the Saint Germain boulevard in Paris. Initially, they sold fabrics, beautiful objects and souvenirs brought from exotic travels. Two years later, they presented their first candle with the scent of hawthorn, and in 1968 their first eau de toilette - L'Eau.

Diptyque masterfully keeps up with ever-changing scent trends, while maintaining its DNA. Olivier Pescheux, one of the most famous contemporary "noses", emphasizes their characteristic feature, which is the unconventional aromatic combinations. One element is always added to the composition, seemingly deviating from the rest, but in reality deepening the experience. In L'Eau, inspired by 16th century potpourri blends, it was ginger. In turn, in the bestselling Do Son, a hypnotic blend of tuberose and jasmine is joined by a vibrant sea accord.

But diptyque is not just fragrances in the form of perfumes or eau de toilettes. It is also world-renowned candles, aromatic care products, home accessories and trinkets that bring great joy. It is limited editions and holiday collections that we wait for all year round.

Fleur de Peau - Flower of the Skin

Opinions about Fleur De Peau

The scent opens with fresh, rose accents of pink pepper, followed by the highlighting of iris, with its cool powdery notes. But what really makes this scent unique is the use of Ambrettolide - a musky molecule known for its delicate, pear-like accents combined with clean musk. Luxury and romance.

Richard Goeller, Everfumed

These perfumes are exquisite, refined, and attention-grabbing in a subtle way. The powdery combination of musk, iris, and warm amber is fresh, quite intoxicating, and somewhat reminiscent of Chanel No. 18. It evokes nighttime conversations held in leather-clad armchairs, by the fireplace, with cocktails in hand, when you know there's no need to rush anywhere the next day.
