About the brand Santa Maria Novella

Florence is home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world - Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, which dates back to the 13th century. Famous scents and skincare products have been created for centuries from a blend of flowers and herbs collected from the hills of Tuscany, maturing in old terracotta jars. Among the compositions still produced today according to Dominican formulas are Acqua di Colonia (Catherine de' Medici's favorite scent), created in the 17th century Acqua di Santa Maria Novella, and Acqua di Rose - an excellent refreshing tonic, sold since the second half of the 14th century, as well as hand-shaped and packaged soaps, which mature for 60 days in ventilated cabinets.

All products are made exclusively in Florence, based on medicinal plants and herbs grown in the same way as in the Middle Ages.

Reviews of Peau D'Espagne

Peau d’Espagne is the oldest and most magnificent representative of this type of leather scents and although it contains a small amount of birch tar, the final effect is rather due to the complex floral structure. Although it clearly deconstructs masculinity, I think it can be incredibly sexy on the right woman - perhaps on a tough girl or as part of breaking the image of a quiet, subtle girl who unexpectedly wants to appear perverse.
