Description

This is one of the most famous fragrance compositions from Santa Maria Novella. A blend of grasses, berries, resin, and flowers collected from the slopes of Tuscany and stored for 3 months in special clay jars. During this time, a fermentation process takes place, resulting in a highly valued spicy, refreshing scent known worldwide.

Florence is home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world - Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, which dates back to the 13th century. Famous scents and skincare products have been created for centuries from a blend of flowers and herbs collected from the hills of Tuscany, maturing in old terracotta jars. Among the compositions still produced today according to Dominican formulas are Acqua di Colonia (Catherine de' Medici's favorite scent), created in the 17th century Acqua di Santa Maria Novella, and Acqua di Rose - an excellent refreshing tonic, sold since the second half of the 14th century, as well as hand-shaped and packaged soaps, which mature for 60 days in ventilated cabinets.

All products are made exclusively in Florence, based on medicinal plants and herbs grown in the same way as in the Middle Ages.
