Blooming cactus sets the tone for this raw, elegant vanilla in its dark version. Cool and crystalline like moonlit desert air. Velvety and sensual like midnight sky. The scent of Cierne de Lune was inspired by the mysterious, night-blooming cereus cactus, also known as the Queen of the Night.
The French call this cactus cierge de lune - "moon candle", and its Latin name is selenicereus grandiflorus. As its spectacular flowers only bloom at night and wither at sunrise, Queen Marie Antoinette commissioned artist-botanist Pierre Joseph Redoute to capture the captivating beauty of the New World cactus by painting it at midnight. Today, Karl Bradl and perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin recreate the refined aroma of this suggestive yet fleeting muse.
Cierne de Lune will take you on an olfactory journey into the heart of the desert. A rare, royal flower reinterpreted.
Fragrance Notes
About the brand Aedes de Venustas
Since 1995, an olfactory art gallery founded by perfume connoisseurs — Robert Gerstner and Karl Bradl, an independent perfume brand since 2012. The first fragrance, Aedes de Venustas (Latin for "temple of beauty") Signature, was created in contrast to the traditional fragrance pyramid model — commonly accepted division into base, heart, and top notes was replaced with their own scheme.
The distinguishing note of all the brand's creations is incense — combined with extraordinary, rare, and often the most expensive ingredients in the world. The result is compositions that are noble, well thought out, resistant to trends, multidimensional, dignified, and rich. From the highest shelf.
Reviews of Cierge de Lune
The name Cierge de Lune, perfumes created by Fabrice Pellegrina, means "moon candle" and is a tribute to the night-blooming selenicereus grandiflorus, which smells like strong vanilla. I think it's one of the strangest gourmand scents I've ever encountered - similar to a still-burning Baked Alaska dessert.
