The scent is built around musk. The woody note was obtained by adding Virginia cedar oil. The musk scent is enhanced by synthetic musk. Ambroxan was used to bind the wood with musk.

Matiere Premiere, a perfume brand whose name simply means "raw materials", is a collection of scents inspired by the world around us. Master perfumer Aurélien Guichard meticulously created each fragrance around one note, which he found in nature. Both key ingredients (musk, neroli, Italian citron, guaiac wood, centifolia rose, sandalwood, frankincense, birch tar) and accompanying components are sourced exclusively from organic, environmentally responsible farms around the world.
