Iris holds a special place in the world of perfumes: its price surpasses gold, and its unique aroma can only be experienced six years after planting. In Aedes de Venustas Iris Nazarena, the history of floral scents is reborn. Iris intertwined with incense creates a mysterious and sensual alliance, which becomes the essence of these enchanting perfumes.
Perfumer Ralf Schwieger has long wanted to create a modern interpretation of the iris scent without referencing its most famous versions, especially Chanel N° 19, which he calls "the benchmark for iris-based scents and an unrivaled model since its launch in 1971." He decided to add transparency to notes that can be perceived as dark, and end with something that expresses mystical and enduring beauty.
Since 1995, an olfactory art gallery founded by perfume connoisseurs — Robert Gerstner and Karl Bradl, an independent perfume brand since 2012. The first fragrance, Aedes de Venustas (Latin for "temple of beauty") Signature, was created in contrast to the traditional fragrance pyramid model — commonly accepted division into base, heart, and top notes was replaced with their own scheme.
The distinguishing note of all the brand's creations is incense — combined with extraordinary, rare, and often the most expensive ingredients in the world.
