The idea behind these perfumes is clear: to transform the famous rose from Grasse, a symbol of sensuality and ultimate femininity, into a decidedly energetic scent that can be worn by both women and men... As a result of this process, a unique model was created: alternating between feminine and masculine with an enigmatic ambiguity of the centifolia rose, which is quickly absorbed by a chorus of warm, spicy and woody notes of cumin, incense, cedarwood and a touch of amber... In the background, the open sensuality of guaiac wood and rockrose, emphasized by a distinctly physical animalic note, adds an enduringly mysterious character to the perfume.

Le Labo is a rebellion in the world of perfumery - partly thanks to breakthrough scent concepts, and partly due to its uncompromising philosophy. The brand's manifesto proclaims that scents must have a soul, luxury lies in the art of craftsmanship, and they do not give their perfumes for free to celebrities. The creators of the brand obsessively respect the sources from which the ingredients of their perfumes come from and are uncompromisingly vegan. "It is scandalous that in the 21st century, the cosmetic industry, which is supposed to be a luxury and pleasure, is based on animal cruelty" - they proclaim.

Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi, co-founders, deliberately do not strive for a mythical ideal: "We are inspired by what fascinates us in other areas of life - diverse aesthetic approaches, philosophies, and objects and products. We are strongly influenced by the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which is about finding beauty in constant change and perfection in imperfection."

Deep, earthy rose, I was surprised how much I liked Rose 31. It's a departure from the overly sweet and girly perfumes of my teenage years. It's the kind of scent you want to sniff every five seconds, it's just that good.
