Wetiwer from Haiti, chord of noble treesThe inspiration for Maria Candida's creation of the Exultat perfume was a visit to the Roman church of San Lorenzo in Lucina during vespers.
They are moving and spiritual, combining transcendence with matter, sacred with profane. In this scent, violet and vetiver overlap and blend with Somali incense, with the violet absolute giving depth and spirituality to the composition.
The Exultat fragrance is reminiscent of the scents that fill an Italian family's home during wedding ceremonies: the aroma of white linens, purified with ash and lavender. The source of inspiration is the richness of the San Lorenzo church in Rome, where spirituality intertwines with physicality, and the sacred with the secular.
Famous filmmaker Pappi Corsicato, who has collaborated with Pedro Almodovar among others, was so enchanted by the Exultat perfume that he decided to make a film about it.
Maria Candida graduated from the prestigious perfumery school in Grasse. She is close to the philosophy of slow factory, and uses only the best natural ingredients in her compositions, often sourced from small, organic farms. She creates honest, "personal" scents, in contrast to the mainstream. Each one tells a different story.
"My first memory is related to roses from my family's garden. When they were in bloom, I would gather the petals and make my own rose water, which I would then pour into bottles and give to my family. As I grew up, it became clear to me that creating perfumes is the passion of my life. I believe that a good scent is one that works well for the person wearing it. This effect can only be achieved with natural essences that speak to our body and mind, and that we instinctively love," she says.
