Bold, exotic perfumes beginning with a deep, narcotic scent of nagarmotha root and dark green patchouli leaf, sharp freshness of Thai lime leaf and earthy elegance of Java vetiver root. All of this is accompanied by luxurious, modern Somali frankincense resin and warm sweetness of Moroccan Atlas cedar wood base. Raer 01 is sensual, earthy, but also surprisingly fresh. This unexpected bright citrus accent is thanks to the top notes of Thai lime leaf (kaffir), mandarin and clementine. You probably know kaffir leaves as a spice used in tom yum gai soup.
Nagarmotha - also known as cypriol - is a grass growing on the banks of Indian rivers, giving a rich and earthy olfactory profile: on one hand tempting, on the other balancing. In Chinese medicine, nagarmotha is believed to regulate Qi, the life energy. The roots of the plant emit an exotic, warm wood scent when dried, combining herbal notes with fresh accents. Harvesting these roots is difficult, which is why nagarmotha is rarely used nowadays. In modern perfumery, it is usually replaced by vetiver. But the strong, intoxicating scent of cypriol is unmatched.

The founders create their own uncompromising recipes - in terms of integrity, cost and quality. They use traditional, artisanal and time-consuming methods. Each bottle of Raer perfume is hand-filled in the Atelier in Berlin, just across the Spree from the Neue Nationalgalerie.
