Piękna koncepcja
First steps
It's March 2006. The first Galilu is opening in the Hotel Europejski in Warsaw. We ask Agnieszka Łukasik, a co-founder, about the emotions surrounding this event.

What words come to mind when you recall the first Galilu – at the Hotel Europejski?
Excitement, joy, a sense of agency.
Do you remember what emotions accompanied you during the process of gathering inspiration, designing, bringing it to life, and finalizing agreements with brands?
The whole process consumed me completely. We faced nothing but challenges – after all, there hadn't been such a concept in Poland before; there was madness and fear, but also an irresistible conviction that it would work. It quickly turned out that foreign partners were open – that gave us wings, it was empowering. I never doubted (our) success, but its scale surprised me.

…and what about during the opening, once you had let the first customers into your world?
A new professional adventure, so butterflies in the stomach. A great curiosity about each new customer. Elation. And determination to keep going.
Your favorite element of (that) decor was…
The chandelier. We still have it.

If you could go back in time, would you change anything? Or do you accept these memories as they are?
Sure, maybe something, but since the company is where it is, there probably wasn't a need.
What were you most proud of back then?
Myself.
