The smoke of burning coal resin above Tulum brings to mind the unique scent of the beach. The smell of Mayan incense wafting over ancient temples. The sea breeze and sounds of the jungle, where the jaguar hides. Aedes de Venustas Copal azur emanates the spiritual vibrations of the sacred city of Tulum.
Mayan incense served as inspiration for the scent of Copal azur created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour in 2014. He is also the creator of Aedes de Venustas' first fragrance, Signature. Incense is a common thread throughout most of Aedes de Venustas' collection. This millennia-old offering to the gods through burning is the main source of perfumes - the very word "perfume" comes from the Latin per fumare, meaning "through smoke". Who better than Duchaufour to transport incense from the church to the seaside jungle?

About the brand Aedes de Venustas
Since 1995, an olfactory art gallery founded by perfume connoisseurs — Robert Gerstner and Karl Bradl, an independent perfume brand since 2012. The first fragrance, Aedes de Venustas (Latin for "temple of beauty") Signature, was created in contrast to the traditional fragrance pyramid model — commonly accepted division into base, heart, and top notes was replaced with their own scheme.
The distinguishing note of all the brand's creations is incense — combined with extraordinary, rare, and often the most expensive ingredients in the world. The result is compositions that are noble, well thought out, resistant to trends, multidimensional, dignified, and rich. From the highest shelf.
