natural white musk, benzoinThe inspiration for this fragrance was the gardens of the Hanbury Villa in Ventimiglia, a city located in northern Italy, by the Mediterranean Sea. The essences from this garden were collected throughout her life by its owner, Dorothy Hanbury, a beautiful and charming lady. In spring, these essences blend together and mix with the soft, warm breeze from the sea, creating an extraordinary harmony that is recreated in the Hanbury fragrance.
This is the most "feminine" scent from the classic perfume line.
The perfume also includes the sweet-scented lily - its unique note ties together the composition of all the scents from Lady Hanbury's garden. This romantic tree, which blooms in February, has very small, white flowers that emit an incredibly strong aroma.
Maria Candida graduated from the prestigious perfumery school in Grasse. She is close to the philosophy of slow factory, and uses only the best natural ingredients in her compositions, often sourced from small, organic farms. She creates honest, "personal" scents, in contrast to the mainstream. Each one tells a different story.
"My first memory is related to roses from my family's garden. When they were in bloom, I would gather the petals and make my own rose water, which I would then pour into bottles and give to my family. As I grew up, it became clear to me that creating perfumes is the passion of my life. I believe that a good scent is one that works well for the person wearing it. This effect can only be achieved with natural essences that speak to our body and mind, and that we instinctively love," she says.
