About the brand

Maria Candida Gentile

 

 

Maria Candida graduated from the prestigious perfumery school in Grasse. She is close to the philosophy of slow factory, and uses only the best natural ingredients in her compositions, often sourced from small, organic farms. She creates honest, "personal" scents, in contrast to the mainstream. Each one tells a different story.

"My first memory is related to roses from my family's garden. When they were in bloom, I would gather the petals and make my own rose water, which I would then pour into bottles and give to my family. As I grew up, it became clear to me that creating perfumes is the passion of my life. I believe that a good scent is one that works well for the person wearing it. This effect can only be achieved with natural essences that speak to our body and mind, and that we instinctively love," she says.

Reviews of Noir Tropical

Ms. Gentile captured something that is rarely felt in vanilla perfumes: the fact that vanilla comes from a plant grown in the jungle. The scent is earthy, musty and as far from the smell of cupcakes as possible. Although the first notes on the skin resemble the wonderful scent of an open bottle of vanilla extract, the perfume then reaches deep into the dark underbelly of the tropics.
