The scent is built around musk. The woody note is achieved by adding Virginia cedar oil. The musk scent is enhanced with synthetic musk. Ambroxan was used to bind the wood with musk.
Matiere Premiere, a line of perfumes whose name means "raw materials", consists of unisex scents inspired by the world around us. The elegant yet daring master perfumer Aurélien Guichard meticulously created each scent around one note that he found in nature. Six key ingredients sourced exclusively from local and organic crops from around the world balance a variety of other natural notes, creating interesting and complex scent interactions.

Master perfumer Aurélien Guichard meticulously created each fragrance around one note, which he found in nature. Both key ingredients (musk, neroli, Italian citron, guaiac wood, centifolia rose, sandalwood, frankincense, birch tar) and accompanying components are sourced exclusively from organic, environmentally responsible farms around the world.
