Description

Louise and Alexandre were the children of architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart (1739-1813), known for designing the Paris stock exchange building and renovating the Père Lachaise cemetery. Thanks to his mother, a painter, and his father, who worked at the Louvre, Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) was familiar with the best sculptors of his time, such as Jean Baptiste Pigalle and Jean Baptiste Lemoyne, from a young age. He himself gained the nickname "sculptor of the Enlightenment" and immortalized in stone the portraits of the most important figures of this era, including Empress Catherine the Great, Diderot, Voltaire, and Rousseau. As the most famous portraitist of the 18th century, Houdon was fascinated by the theme of childhood throughout his life. He captured this fascination in his portraits of the Brongniart children, created in 1777. The clarity and tenderness with which he approached this subject give the work a timeless quality.

Remembering its rich history, the Maison Trudon perfumery turned to the Réunion des Musées Nationaux (French National Museum Council) for permission to reproduce some treasures from the catalog of the foundry. Currently, Trudon presents busts of figures or symbols important to French history. This is a very significant topic for us, as we are the heirs of the Royal Wax Manufacturer.

About the brand Trudon

A French family company from Normandy, producing candles since 1643. They supplied them to the French royal court and the most important churches in France. Marie Antoinette was a loyal customer of the company, and Napoleon gave his son a candle adorned with gold medallions with his likeness on the day of his birth...

In 2006, the forgotten company was taken over by Ramdane Touhami, a brilliant artist, entrepreneur, and creative director, and turned it into an undoubtedly cult brand. Their offer includes classic perfumes, home fragrances, accessories, and the most popular candles - made from natural waxes, placed in handcrafted glass vessels with a characteristic gold or silver emblem, with complex, elaborate, and long-lasting scents. Scents that linger long after they have been extinguished.
