Flavored vinegar
Known as the Vinegar of the Seven Thieves, it appeared in Toulouse during the epidemic that struck the city between 1628 and 1631. According to legend, it was used by seven thieves, each of whom knew only one of its ingredients. The special mixture allowed them to avoid getting infected while robbing the sick. The vinegar was spread on hands and faces, and also burned in homes to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. It still remains in traditional pharmacopoeia and is used as a tonic and air freshener.
About the brand Santa Maria Novella
Florence is home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world - Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, which dates back to the 13th century. Famous scents and skincare products have been created for centuries from a blend of flowers and herbs collected from the hills of Tuscany, maturing in old terracotta jars. Among the compositions still produced today according to Dominican formulas are Acqua di Colonia (Catherine de' Medici's favorite scent), created in the 17th century Acqua di Santa Maria Novella, and Acqua di Rose - an excellent refreshing tonic, sold since the second half of the 14th century, as well as hand-shaped and packaged soaps, which mature for 60 days in ventilated cabinets.
All products are made exclusively in Florence, based on medicinal plants and herbs grown in the same way as in the Middle Ages.
Galilu presents the brand Santa Maria Novella.
Reviews of Aromatic Vinegar
Wonderful mixture of seven herbs that immediately puts you on your feet. Its recipe is so valuable that it has been secured with a double lock. The scent is specific, but it's only a matter of time before you not only accept it, but even fall in love with it.
